Criminal Minds: Apparently, Criminal Minds is good again but I can't find the motivation to get the episodes to catch up.

The Professionals: Ouch, there are some truly fugly clothes and hideous cars in the episodes. Was the 70's really that dreary?

Hetalia: Fandom, please stop making the personification of my country, England, cry - for no good reason - like a three year old that's seen his favourite teddy crushed under a bus.

Hetalia: Use some bloody lube!

Stargate SG-1: I caught sight of the team stepping through the stargate in a youtube multi-fandom video and my heart swelled. I love you, my amazing, brave and, alas, fictional team

I signed up for the USUK (Hetalia) Secret Santa in a fit of insanity enthusiasm. I love my prompt so much and now I'm rather fearful I won't do it justice. To add to this, the opening scene is 1500 words long. At this rate, I'll finish by Christmas 2012.

After posting my old Pros novel a while back, a few things made themselves known. First of all, ten year old zine fic still has a new audience, lots of comments from people who had never read it because they don't buy zines, for whatever reason. Secondly, a lot of those people said they were downloading the fic to their Kindle. It made my very glad I decided to post it on AO3 as I didn't realise quite how many people are reading their fic on eReaders. I get such a kick out of knowing someone is carrying my fic around with them. :D (assuming they didn't read it and delete it pronto because they thought it was a pile of steaming crap...nope, I'm keeping my positive thoughts, yay!)

I has an AO3 account! And have posted! Go me! I've been thinking about it for a while, I love the idea of a central fanfic archive that feels safe(ish) from TOSsing, that has a bizillion fandoms, that is easy to navigate and offers a way of filtering fic so I can find what I'm in the mood for. I love their tags and I'm making an effort to use them - the blowjob tag seemed to, er, come up a fair bit when tagging my fic, which makes me look a tad fixated. Oddly, my true fixation, chocolate, appears surprisingly little. Clearly I need more fic involving copious amounts of Thorntons and possible misuse thereof.

I am here: I got some hits as I posted which was so lovely given how long ago they were written. It's nice to think someone out there in fandom land had never read them and now they have.

Hi, all. It's been a while but I bring you updates, plus there's more coming in the near-future, so I hope you'll forgive the lack of activity.

Two fic have been added to the site, both of them bigguns. The first is one of my favourite stories ever by ELG. I think slashers and genners alike who love the Jack and Daniel relationship will enjoy it. :)

Stargate SG-1: ELG - Divergence Category: Jack-Daniel Friendship & AU Jack/AU Daniel Slash. PG-13. [14,373 words] Spoilers: S3 spoilers (set after ‘Legacy’ & ‘Forever In A Day’) Pairings: AU Jack/AU Daniel. Warnings: None really. Summary: When SG-1 are visited by SG-A from a different universe Jack and Daniel are surprised to find that in another world they are more than just good friends.

The next fic is actually a novel and it was the most fun I've ever had writing, back in my Cherilyn days, lol. If you liked The Fugitive movie I think you'll enjoy this, especially as HG did most of the work and she's an amazing writer. :) My thanks to HG for agreeing to have her Fugitive fic posted on the site.

The Fugitive (movie): HG & Cherilyn. Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. Gerard/Kimble slash. NC-17. [132,778 words] Notes: Originally appeared in zine form, produced and published by Dog-House Press.

Best wishes to everyone for the new year and rest assured, Bunnyfic was not dead, just resting for a while. ;)

Today is a jammies day. Sometimes you just have to lounge around without a bra on, wear loose clothes, drink tea and be a slob. I've just created a bookmarks page on delicious, not many links but I plan to keep adding to it. Right now I'm surfing youtube and decided I was in a ufo vid mood. For those like me who enjoy watching weird glowy lights in the sky, here's what I'm watching:
It's a compilation of footage from NASA missions and a few other sources, interesting stuff.

If you are reading this right now, you have more luxury than someone in Iran could ever hope for right now. If you are watching TV or a video on youtube, updating your status on Facebook, Tweeting, or even texting your friend, you are lucky. If you are safe in your home, and were able to sleep last night without the sounds of screaming from the rooftops, you need to know and understand what is happening to people just like you in Iran right now.

They are not the enemy. They are a people whose election has been stolen. For the first time in a long time, a voice for change struck the youth of Iran, just as it did for many people in the United States only seven months ago. Hossein Mousavi gained the support of millions of people in Iran as a Presidential candidate. He stands for progressiveness. He supports good relations with the West, and the rest of the world. He is supported with fervor as he challenges the oppressive regime of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

On Friday, millions of people waited for hours in line to vote in Iran's Presidential election. Later that night, as votes came in, Mousavi was alerted that he was winning by a two-thirds margin. Then there was a change. Suddenly, it was Ahmadinejad who had 68% of the vote - in areas which have been firmly against his political party, he overwhelmingly won. Within three hours, millions of votes were supposedly counted - the victor was Ahmadinejad. Immediately fraud was suspected - there was no way he could have won by this great a margin with such oppposition. Since then, reports have been coming in of burned ballots, or in some cases numbers being given without any being counted at all. None of this is confirmed, but what happened next seems to do the trick.

The people of Iran took the streets and rooftops. They shout "Death to the dictator" and "Allah o akbar." They join together to protest. Peacefully. The police attack some, but they stay strong. Riots happen, and the shouting continues all night. Text messaging was disabled, as was satellite, and websites which can spread information such as Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, and the BBC are blocked in the country. At five in the morning, Arabic speaking soldiers (the people of Iran speak Farsi) stormed a university in the capital city of Tehran. While sleeping in their dormitories, five students were killed. Others were wounded. These soldiers are thought to have been brought in by Ahmadinejad from Lebanon. Today, 192 of the university's faculty have resigned in protest.

Mousavi requested that the government allow a peaceful rally to occur this morning - the request was denied. Many thought that it would not happen. Nevertheless, first a few thousand people showed up in the streets of Tehran. At this point, it is estimated that 1 to 2 million people were there. Mousavi spoke on the top of a car. The police stood by. For a few hours, everything was peaceful. Right now, the same cannot be said. Reports of injuries, shootings, and killings are flooding the internet. Twitter has been an invaluable source - those in Iran who still know how to access it are updating regularly with picture evidence. People are being brutally beaten. Tonight will be another night without rest for so many in Iran no older than I am. Tonight there is a Green Revolution.

List 3 'ships' that are your favourites for the following categories: friendship, het, slash.

1. Joey and Chandler - Friends. I never get tired of those first couple of seasons when the Joey and Chandler duo were at their best. I must have watched the 'Joey moves out and in again' episodes a dozen times at least.

2. Sam Beckett and Al Calavicci - Quantum Leap. This was my first fandom and, while I've never gone back and watched it after the final episode aired (and made everything I'd watched never happen that way...grrrr), the love between those guys gave major warm fuzzies and can still make me smile.

3. Sam and Dean Winchester - Supernatural. Oh, boys... You make me want to bang your heads together sometimes, and other times I want to hug the pair of you. Yes, you're sooo manly and heroic - now go and weep over each other some more then hug, thankyaverymuch.

1. Garcia and Morgan - Criminal Minds. This deserves an OMG. Flirty, sexy and just the right level of ship, kept at the friendship level but with a deep love that goes beyond the teasing banter. Mmmm, shippy...

2. Zoe and Wash - Firefly. Huh. This surprised me. I was thinking Sam and Teal'c, Scully and Mulder, Dempsey and Makepeace, Scarecrow and Mrs King; I thought I'd take another look at the sci fi I watch, and Zoe and Wash popped into my head. Wonderful couple written just right with great chemistry, and proof married ship can work just as well as UST. Oh and that thing that happened in Serenity? Did Not Happen. So neener Josh Whedon!

3. Niles and Daphne - Frasier. Another one I'm surprised I picked. I stopped watching after the runaway bride episode (made me dislike the characters), but I've been hearing how it went afterwards and it's made me think about the years I enjoyed watching these two dance around each other. I need to catch up with what I've missed and I definitely need to rewatch the early seasons.

1. Jack and Daniel - Stargate SG-1. I had a real problem deciding whether I wanted this listed as slash or friendship because I adore both types of relationship with these two. I love their differences and how similar they are at the same time. Most of all I love their chemistry. This is probably my all time favourite paring.

2. Gerard and Kimble - The Fugitive (movie). Yes, I'm picking two characters that spend most of their time apart in a single movie. Oooh, but when they do meet! Sparks! I know I'm heavily influenced by the fanfic side of things but sod it, I love them. :D

3. Bodie and Doyle - The Professionals. I have such fondness for the boys, mainly because it was the first fandom I got into that had writer cons that I attended, hugely supportive people who all adored the boys (preferably naked and in bed - first fandom for me that was predominantly slash). The show had its crappy moments but on the whole it's aged well and the boys are still damn sexy together.

Ahh, Bank Holiday Monday, how much I love you. I love Saturday. I appreciate Sunday the way you do a good restaurant that serves great food, but it's popular, so they try to rush you out of the place after an hour, just as you're starting to relax and thinking about cheesecake and cappuccino. Monday will be spent the same way I spent Sunday - lie in till 10.30am, spend a couple hours catching up on email, lj and the new shiny Dreamwidth all the cool kids are talkin' 'bout (I'm not a cool kid, I'm the small kid with the scooter that follows them). In fact, this post is brought to you using the power of crossposting. Don't I feel like I'm riding the cutting edge of online communication. Oh, yeah. At some point there will be Sorting (not like Harry Potter sorting, not really sure why it needs a capital 's', maybe because the quantity of Stuff to Sort would make Hercules whimper. But! Before the Sorting there will be fannishness, which brings me to what I'm watching lately.

Criminal Minds has stamped a claim on my heart. I'd love to blame the pretty boy eye candy but I suspect Penelope Garcia is to blame. You know how people have gone Susan Boyle crazy because she's Super Ordinary Woman, the regular person in her 40's, unmarried with a cat, the woman next door no one notices? Penelope Garcia could be poster chick for fandom, the smart geeky woman with nerdy tendencies who isn't stick-thin, isn't a super model, is very appealing, has an eye for the pretty and is funny. She's someone you want to spend time with, in fact I've spent time with her, with versions of her throughout my life since discovering fandom at age 22. Combine Penelope with two other women on the show who are smart, funny, endearing, great at their job and talk about things other than men, and it's obvious why Criminal Minds is the first show I watch when my downloads are ready.

Primeval. It's cheesy. It's a tad silly. I don't care. Even with the latest Episodes of Suck starring Action Man, it's still a fun show. Connor Temple should be available as a pet. I like the women. It has a new pretty. It's playful and doesn't take itself seriously. It's fun.

Life. I love this show. I love how the humour is surreal with shades of Monty Python. I love that Dani Reese reminds me so much of Sandra Bullock's Gracie Hart in Miss Congeniality. I love the dialogue. I like all the characters and all the relationships. I like the way they've taken characters and changed the relationships. The stories are usually interesting but I'm watching it for the characters.

Supernatural. I think this is a show I have to watch without reading the comments of other viewers. I was watching it every week asap and, for the most part, enjoying it; some negative stuff was being said a while back, and now I'm five episodes or so behind. So, note to self, give the episodes a chance and see what happens. Duh!

Merlin. There is no Merlin. Why is there no Merlin? I need Merlin, dammit! That is all.

NCIS. Confession: I enjoy Tony and Ziva flirting and ust. :P So, I've enjoyed all the episodes that spring immediately to mind. As always, the show has scenes I'd rather they did differently, but the NCIS family feel is still intact (with a hormonal vibe between playful brother Tony and their exotic cousin Ziva) and that's the reason I'm watching. The stories enable the characters to interact and the dead bodies mean we see Ducky and Palmer, so yay for the weekly murders!

So now I'm off to watch the latest Primeval that aired on Saturday. Hopefully Connor will sit on the new pretty's lap again and Abby will do something super heroic while being a non-superhero every woman.

Another contestant that made me cry. :D I've watched the Susan Boyle vid about a dozen times then was told about this vid. The look on the kid's face when Simon... I'll let you see for yourself. ;)

2. Open the book to page 56.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next seven sentences in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.

Six or eight horses could easily have fitted into it, and its sides weren't too steep to go up and down. Thowra went very carefully round the edge, his nose curling suspciously, then walked on, through the trees at the side of the flat.

He stopped quite close to the gambolling horses.

"I am going right round the flat keeping in the fringe of the trees," he said. He looked at Lightning, who was looking only at the young horses in the shining mist, then at Baringa. Baringa looked from Thowra to the young horses, and back to Thowra.

"When I have had a good wander round I will return to the main herd," said Thowra, "and then to the Secret Valley.

The grab bag deals appear to be starting on Monday. This is when they get rid of their remaining Christmas stock to make way for new stock for Valentine's Day etc. Last year it was something like £50 worth of freebies for every £15 spent and the website was doing a similar deal. There's nothing on the LUSH site yet but I rang three LUSH shops and all confirmed they're starting Monday. :)

Not for any bad reason, just feeling the need to take a break from fandom and do other stuff for a while. Just letting people know in case they think I've left or I'm slow responding. :)

I'm not sure if these are all that unpopular fandom-wide, but here goes:

Stargate SG-1

Since I couldn't find a community on Insane Journal  that's for all Stargate fic, I've created one:

A Stargate community for fanfic about any characters from the Stargate universe, whether SG-1, SGA, movie 'verse, future spin offs or that obscure cartoon Infinity that few people can remember. Gen, slash and ship are all welcome, whatever the length, as are AUs and crossovers with other shows.
