I'm making some sumatra mandheling coffee
Feb. 24th, 2006 08:28 pmYes, that's right, it's the coffee Mitchell makes for Black Daniel in Ripple Effect. Yes, I bought it because it's now canon that's the coffee Daniel likes. Yes, I am a sad bastard. No, I don't see myself leaving this sad bastard state any time soon.
Ooh! It's dripping through the filter! SQUEE!

It's very smooth and surprisingly refreshing. Some coffees I find can leave a cloying feel in the mouth or have a bitter or acid aftertaste. I find this doesn't. I'm not a purist when it comes to coffee so I do have mine with milk and one sugar, so it would taste different for those who drink it black. That said, it's one of the few coffees I can take black without it tasting too bitter for my taste. Have you tried Blue Mountain?

Date: 2006-02-24 09:18 pm (UTC)I agree, a lot of coffees are too bitter or acidic, and this one's not that way. It's just I have a really cheap "Hawaiian Blend" I get at the grocery store - already ground, in a can - that's also nice. Which is why I wasn't perhaps as impressed as I should've been with the SM...?
Or maybe my pallet's just not that reclined. ;)
