The snow has all gone and the snow person of debateable gender has collapsed. It's all very sad and traumatic, so the £30 I spent on LUSH is perfectly justifiable. I highly recommend Melting Marshmallow Moment bubble bar slice. Yum!

*ahem*

Just £30? Hmm?

OK. So it was just under £32. You had the Blonde sample so that counts for at least £2 that I didn't spend, ergo...

Yeah, yeah, you just go on believing that. But then again, it was a bargain when you add in the amount of time we were in there, the number of products tried, sniffed or rubbed, the expert advice, and the like-minded feel-good gushing. A complete bargain.

True. I must have inhaled a few quid's worth.

What is Lush? It sounds...intriguing. *g*

Lush is sin and temptation in the form of bathroom products like soaps, bubble bath, hand creams, foot creams... go here:

http://www.lush.com/

Fortunately online you can't smell and be tempted, but to walk into their stores is to walk out a few $$ (or more) lighter. *g*

Ah, thank you! *g* It looks lovely. I've never seen a Lush store here. :-)

£30? Is that all? *g* I admire your restraint. :-)

I was amazingly restrained. I'm glad you can see that and appreciate the incredible willpower and self denial required. The fact I spent a £100 on the stuff at Christmas and have a whole basket full of yumminess is irrelevent!

Oh, indeed, a £100 weeks before doesn't count. So £30 was most restrained. *g*

Please can I steal your icon :-)

I have been Lush-deprived for three weeks now due to the bathroom renovations. Although the bathroom isn't finished, the bath is now useable. I may have a date with a Blue Cloud bath slice this afternoon :-)

Steal away!

I think you and Blue Cloud have been parted for too long. Enjoy!

Realised I can't have a bath as there is no door on bathroom :-( Hubby probably wouldn't object, but 16 year old son might!

Oh, I love Lush. Yes, yummy! They did away with my favorite bomb: Karma. They have it in bubble bath, which isn't quite the same, but oh, well. I love the smell. I spent $100 on a bunch just before Christmas and then a wonderful soul sent me more as a pressie.

The Aussie gang introduced me to to it the first trip over there (the con that MS did't make); Tricia filled her tub, dropped a bomb, and I was in heaven. Must have taken a ton of it home, and now I can mail order... life is good.

Yes indeed. While there is a Lush there is hope.

Karma seems to be the bestseller, at least where I shop. It had a section to itself with a '#1 seller' sign in the Lush in Watford.

Well, it's one of those things that makes for an easy long-distance present. a) I know you love the stuff and b) I can call the U.S. mail order mob and get it sent. :-)

I've just about run out... must make a trip downtown, all this talk of the stuff has got my nose itching. *g*

Ah yes, Lush the shop I can't walk past when it's open because the smell goes straight to my sinuses and makes my eyes water. I have way too sensitive sinuses that it's usual for me to give the shop in Oxford's Cornmarket a very wide berth.

It's a pity because years ago I used to love all the smelly bath stuff, now I daren't even buy such things as a pressie unless it's overpackaged within an inch of it's life.

*weeps for you* Is it the variety of different smells you have a problem with or does even one item set off your sinuses?

Date: 2007-02-11 07:36 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sazandra.livejournal.com
There are quite a variety of smells that set my sinuses off, basically anything with a rather strong smell, household products, perfumes etc can do it.

Lavendar scented stuff is particularly bad, I've no problem with lavendar plants and flowers as long as I don't stick my nose in them. I had to nicely ask my last boss not to have lavendar oil in the office (she loves it), it was just too strong and wham, off my sinuses went the moment she opened the bottle.

Last week having a bit of a cold and going outside when it was below freezing created a double whammy, no strong smells required - my sinuses created merry hell.

All this talk of Lush now has me in withdrawal-- time for a bath and some Karma bubbles... ah, what a life!
