iven that I love reading Daniel/Teal'c and have never written any - yet have written Daniel/Cameron FCOL - I've decided to sign up for
stargatefic100. I've always missed out on these things so yay me for coming in at the start of the party. So far, the table is looking somewhat intimidating rather than inspiring... Here it is, the Big Damn Table. I'll add links as each fic is completed.

Date: 2006-01-27 07:23 pm (UTC)I went to the community, and, errr, at the risk of sounding like the complete idjit that I am, it's all clear as mud (but only because my brain is made of said mud... sludge, it's all sludge *g*).
The goal is to write 100 stories, the plot of each of which is premised upon / related to a word from the table? And do you house the master table with links to the stories and all these stories in your own lj, or somewhere else, and you have to post them all to the community journal?
Do they all have to be slash? I didn't notice anything in the community rules that specified that, but did see it said something about only having 5 of the same pairing. I'm not quite sure (because, of course, my brain is made of mud) if that means all the stories should be slash only (no gen?), and /or if you are limited to only 5 stories involving the same slash pairing/participants.
Where's the first one? Haven't you written it yet? Huh? Huh? Where is it? Daniel, write lots of Daniel. Yay for 100 stories including Daniel *g*.

Yes
"And do you house the master table with links to the stories and all these stories in your own lj,"
Yes. There's a code that creates the table.
To begin, you post a claim in this thread:
http://community.livejournal.com/stargatefic100/259.html
You state which characters you'd like to write about then wait for the claim to be approved. When it's approved you then paste the code which is found here:
http://community.livejournal.com/stargatefic100/891.html
into a post on your own lj. You then post on the community again giving them the link to the post on your lj where you posted the table. This is so people can click on that link and it will take them straight to the table, so they can see when you've edited it to add links to your latest fic.
"...and you have to post them all to the community journal?"
When you write your fic you post as usual to the community letting them know you have a fic, giving details and the URL to the fic that is posted on your lj. The community is for announcing your fic to other members.
The place to find all this info is actually on the front page of the community:
http://community.livejournal.com/stargatefic100/profile
All the details are there. :-)
Anyone that's interested, there's a max of five people writing about a pairing/character. Last time I looked Jack/Daniel had two claims already and a second person has claimed Daniel Jackson.

Date: 2006-01-27 08:58 pm (UTC)I posted a claim. Hope I did it right. Just comment, including your character of choice? I made the assumption that just because you choose the character(s) you are interested in as the primary focus of the stories, that doesn't mean there cannot be howevermany other characters also actively participating in the stories... but, as I said, it's all clear as mud to me.
Another completely stoopid question: How do you get your lj to show up as the cool little blue lj icon guy, instead of just the lj url link?

From what I can tell, yes, that's the case. I had a look at your claim post and you used the format that was asked for, so it looks fine.
"Another completely stoopid question: How do you get your lj to show up as the cool little blue lj icon guy, instead of just the lj url link?"
Lori told me that one. :-) You use the following but use <> instead of []. Using the correct <> would show the resulting link instead of the code:
[lj user="InsertUsername"] in my case it would read [lj user="ankhsign"] Remember to change [] to <>
And for community, it's the same thing, just put "comm" instead of "user" so you'd have:
[lj comm="InsertNameofComm"] so the stargatefic100 would be [lj comm="stargatefic100"]
Except instead of [] use <>
